rubber bushing
Rubber bushings (also known as suspension bushings, rubber sleeves, or rubber liners) are the core shock-absorbing connectors on automotive chassis suspensions, swing arms, tie rods, and balance bars. They are metal sleeves on the inside and outside, with rubber wrapped in the middle, used to connect chassis components, protecting rigidity and filtering vibrations.
1、 Main function
Connect chassis components such as swing arms, subframe, balance bar, shock absorbers, etc
Buffer road vibrations, reduce noise, and prevent abnormal noises
Allow small movements of components to avoid metal collisions
Protect the wheel alignment angle and improve driving stability
2、 Common types
Lower arm liner (large quantity, most easily damaged)
Balance bar liner/opening adhesive
Rod bushing, connecting rod bushing
Shock absorber liner, tower top liner
Rear axle lining, subframe lining
3、 Typical materials
Natural growth rubber NR: good elasticity, comfortable, commonly used in the factory
EPDM: Strong aging and weather resistance, commonly used for exposed chassis parts
Polyurethane PU: harder, more practical, and highly supportive, often used for heavy loads/modifications
4、 Aging and damage manifestations
The chassis claps and makes abnormal noises on the rough road
Steering wheel shaking, deviation, and strong looseness
Tire uneven wear and tire eating
The body shakes greatly during sudden braking or turning
