Teflon sealing ring
Teflon sealing ring, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sealing ring, is a commonly used performance stable sealing component in industry, with outstanding corrosion resistance (based on actual reports), high and low temperature resistance, and self-lubricating performance.
Main performance characteristics
Strong chemical stability, almost able to withstand strong acids, strong bases, organic solvents (based on actual reports), and various strong corrosive media, suitable for extreme working conditions with pH 0-14.
The temperature range is wide, and it can work stably between -200 ℃ and+260 ℃, and can withstand high temperatures for a short period of time.
The friction coefficient is relatively low, it has self-lubricating characteristics, low operating resistance, is not easy to wear, and is not prone to sticking or jamming.
The surface is non stick, with high cleanliness and no toxin detection, meeting the hygiene requirements of the food and pharmaceutical industry and suitable for clean working conditions.
The disadvantages are poor elasticity, easy cold flow creep of pure materials, high hardness, and inferior sealing adhesion compared to rubber. High pressure and dynamic sealing scenarios generally require filling modification or use with elastomers.
common types
Pure PTFE sealing ring, with low cost, is mostly used in ordinary corrosive environments and static sealing.
Fill modified PTFE sealing rings, add materials such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, graphite, bronze, etc., to improve compression resistance, creep resistance, and thermal conductivity, suitable for dynamic sealing and high-pressure working conditions.
Combination sealing structures, such as seals and gaskets, are composed of PTFE slip rings and rubber O-rings, which balance elastic pre tightening and wear resistance (based on actual reports) with stable performance. They are commonly used solutions in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
It can also be made into various shapes such as O-rings, gaskets, retaining rings, V-shaped combination rings, etc.

Valves, pumps, pipelines, and reaction vessels in the chemical and petroleum industries should be sealed against highly corrosive media.
Food, medicine, and semiconductor equipment meet the specific requirements of high temperature, ultra cleanliness, and pollution.
Hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders utilize low friction characteristics to improve smooth operation and lifespan.
The fuel system, engine, and braking system of automobiles and aerospace are adapted to high and low temperature and oil environment.
Wear resistant (based on actual reports) and friction reducing seals for various types of rotating shafts, reciprocating rods, plug valves, and ball valves.
Selection precautions
Select the corresponding material based on the contact medium, temperature, and pressure, and match the working conditions with pure or filling materials.
Ordinary PTFE can be used for static sealing, while filling modification or combination structure is recommended for reciprocating or rotating dynamic sealing.
In high-pressure situations, anti extrusion design should be considered, and back ring support should be added when necessary.
The surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy of the shaft and hole required for cooperation are high in order to protect the sealing effect.
